He was predeceased by: his parents, Elizabeth Smartt and Louis Smartt; his sister Billie Smartt Wade; and his son Phillip Dennis Smartt. He is survived by: his wife Florence White Smartt; his daughter Gail Smartt Reed (John); his grandchildren, Alison Law (Zach), Adam Smartt, Ashley Condra (Dwayne) and Anna Higdon (Dustin); his great grandchildren, Aryn and Dovie; and his siblings, Jo Ann Stevens and Freemason. He is also survived by relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, Southern Jurisdiction.
