He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack C Bryden and Thelma Catherine Bryden; and his brother James H Short. He is survived by: his children, Jeffrey C Bryden and Jennifer C Massey (Jason); his grandchildren, Payton C Massey (Seaton), Allison Massey Scott (Trevor), Ellie R Bryden and Fisher C Bryden; his sister Judith Shelby; and also Carolyn Anderson Bryden.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Catholic Church and Hospice of Chattanooga.
