Homer Douglas Moore Jr. Obituary
Brother Homer Douglas Moore, Jr, 87, of Hixson, TN laid down his earthly working tools Friday, August 4, 2023 in a local nursing home beside his wife of 64 years.
Mr. Moore was of Christian faith; retired from TVA, Local 43 Plumbers and Steamfitters and the State of Tennessee. Homer was 1955 graduate of Tyner High School and with his service fulfilled he was honorably discharged from the US Air Force. He enjoyed outdoor activities of hunting and fishing including the Local 43 weekly bass fishing tournaments.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer Douglas Moore, Sr. and Louise McClure Moore.
He is survived by his wife, Pansy Ann Moore (Smith), and sons Marcus (Deena) and Michael; granddaughter Sarah Beth Smith (Myles) and grandsons Nathan Moore (Kayla), William Moore and Luke Moore; great-granddaughter Poppy Grace Smith; brother David Moore (Debbie) and nephews Eric Moore (Kellie) and Travis Moore (Nannette). Our Smith family members, too many to name, bless you all for the calls and prayers.
A private graveside service will be held at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors and Masonic rights. No visitation is planned. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to the charity of your choice.
