She was predeceased by: her parents, Harley Fortner and Burnie Fortner; her husband Mitchell Odell Newton; her daughter Doris Peak; and her brothers, Aubrey, Kenneth, Roy, Morgan, Homer, Larry, Wayne, Genis and Lewis Fortner.
She is survived by: her daughters, Marie Newton and Margie Raines; her grandchildren, Jerry Raines (Julie) and Lisa Carroll; and her great grandchildren, Dewayne Bingham, Hannah Carroll, Aliyah Raines and Aidan Raines. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
