He is survived by: his wife Regina Petty; his children, Thaxton Petty Jr. (Denise) and Roddie Petty (Holly); his grandchildren, Courtney Petty, Mekhael Nugent, William Wiseman, Mason Petty, Logan Petty, Taylor Petty and Hunter Petty; his great grandchildren, Maverick Nugent, Gavin Nugent and Adrian Nugent; and his brothers, Robert Harold Petty and Ernest Edward Petty.
