She was predeceased by: her parents, Andrew K. Carter and Lillian Gregory Carter; and her siblings, Harvey Carter, Andrew Carter, Robert Carter, Emmitt Carter, Roy Carter, Charles Carter and Juanita Locke.
She is survived by: her husband Marion "Sonny" Smith of Hermitage; and her siblings, Ronnie Carter (Linda) of Old Hickory and Joyce Scott of Gallatin. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
