“Julia Hewitt was my first grade teacher at Poindexter Elementary School in Jackson, Mississippi. I thought she was the kindest, most beautiful woman in the world, and the picture with her obituary In the Clarion Ledger showed her to be just that. I remember her dimples. I am 76 years old, and I believe ours was her first teaching job. Her age of 90 makes that just about right. I am so sorry for your loss. Her father hired me at age 16 to write teen news for the Clarion Ledger. Jeanne Luckett”
