It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Homer Sims in Hermitage, Tennessee, who passed away on August 16, 2020, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Hamp Sims and Cordia Wilson Sims; his wife Alberta "Bertie" Sims; and his sister Margaret Sims Daniels. He is survived by: his son Chris Sims (Heather) of Elizabethton; his grandchildren, Connor Sims and Mackenzie Sims of Elizabethton; and his nieces and nephews, Teresa Hedger (Karl), Sue Craig (Bobby), Steve Cochran (Janice) and Bobby Cochran (Trish).
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Carter County is mandating that all citizens who live in or visit Carter County wear masks in public. In keeping in accordance with this mandate, all visitors to the visitation / funeral service are required to wear a mask and or facial covering.
