He was predeceased by: his wife Stephanie; and his brother-in-law W. O. Pratt. He is survived by: his parents, Pastor Darvin and Jennifer Oakes; his siblings, Jana Pratt, Joy Howell (Jack) and Jared Oakes (Susan); and his nieces and nephews, Bethany Simmons (Josh), Brittany Jones (Collin), Grace, Emily Howell, Lily, Elanor Oakes, Brandon Shope (Sarah), William Howell, Gabriel and Christopher Oakes. He is also survived by two great-nieces and one great-nephew; and many dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hanna Project-Josh and Bethany as they bring help, hope and healing to those who are in desperate need; a mission that DJ lived out every day of his live.
