He was predeceased by: his parents, Smith Denton Kell and Bonnie Heady Kell; his sisters, Minnie Nolan Kell and Sammy Baker; his wife Rachel Geisler Kell; and his daughter Katherine Harris (Kell).
He is survived by: his children, Bonnie Helen Pack, Ross Allen Kell (Betsy), Jama Elizabeth Matheney (Danny), Jonathan Shelby Kell (Starr) and Joseph Calvin Kell. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren, and 19 great-great-grandchildren.
