She was predeceased by: her parents, William Robert Bruce, Sr. and Lela Frances Shoemake Bruce; and her siblings, William Robert Bruce, Jr., David Lynn Bruce, Ruby McPherson Graham, Polly Hoover, Betty Odom and Fay Roy.
She is survived by: her husband Walter Lawrence West; her children, Jackie Cowden (Chuck) and Gary West (Julie); her sisters-in-law, Frances Bruce and Shirley Bruce; her grandchildren, Chase Cowden (Catherine), Weston Cowden (Kelly), Lauren Anderson (Patrick), Hunter West, Chad Hutton (Sherry), Angelo and Nicholas Boone; and her great grandchildren, Breck, Greyson Cowden, Asher, Lilia Anderson, Ericka, Everett, Elizabeth, Eli Henry Hutton and Henry Knestrick. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
