She was predeceased by: her parents, Jesse Ellis Wood and Sarah Bell Brewer Wood; her husband James Meryl Lewis, Sr.; and her siblings, Rev. Orlie J. Wood, Ernest Wood, Edgar Wood, Oscar Wood, Aubrey Wood, Grady Wood, Ada Randolph, Ova Dell Killough and Lillie Mae Boswell.
She is survived by: her children, James M. Lewis, Jr. (Kathy) of South Haven, MS. and Teresa "Teri" Hawn (Robert) of Hendersonville, TN.. She is also survived by Four grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.
