He was predeceased by: his parents, Forrest Eugene and Dorothy Scott Merryman; and his sister Diane Seat. He is survived by: his sons, Scotty Merryman (Jodi) and Darrell Merryman (Sandee); and his grandchildren, Ashlee Merryman, Hunter Merryman and Kathryn Merryman.

In Lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to the Epilepsy Foundation.
