She was predeceased by: her parents, Clyde Lawrence Weatherspoon and Lona Elise Weatherspoon (Plunkett); and her husband James E. "Jim" Wallace. She is survived by: her children, James E. "Bubba" Wallace (Tammy) and Melinda Jo Pelham (Chuck); her grandson Joseph Edward "Joey" Wallace (Allison); her sister Ellen Hinson; and her great grandchild Bennett James Wallace.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Joan's name to the American Cancer Society.
