He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert R. Briley and Pauline Webb Briley Pinson; his wife Mable Little Briley; and his sons, Richard "Dickie" Briley and Anthony "Tony" Briley.
He is survived by: his sister Doris Ann Garrett; his daughters-in-law, Mary Ellen Briley and Claudia Briley; his granddaughters, Lauren Robinson (Cameron) and Kara Shepard (James); and his great grandchildren, Jayda, Jackson, Chloe Robinson, Beau Binkley and Luke Shepard.
