It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Eugene John Ornes of Hendersonville, Tennessee, born in Sparta, Wisconsin, who passed away on October 9, 2023, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Arnold Ornes and Alda Gertrude Vestreng Ornes. He is survived by: his wife Brenda Johnson Ornes; his daughter Jennifer O'Neal (John); his brother Edward Ornes (Patricia); and his grandsons, Patrick O'Neal and Jacob O'Neal.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Shriner's Hospital.

“So sad to hear this news. Gene was devoted volunteer on the honor guard at post seventeen American legion as well as helping chapter two forty of the Vietnam veterans of America. He was a close friend and always helped whenever he could. He was one of those persons who never complained when the going got rough. The military brotherhood has lost a good one. We will be missing you in formation brother gene but we will never forget you. Your brother in arms. Jerry carmack”
