She was predeceased by: her parents, Rev. W. B. Welch and Lonnie Welch; her son Thomas "Tommy" J. Cooper, Jr.; her grandson Ian Alexander McGranahan; and her siblings, Harry L. "Buddy" Welch and Joy King.

She is survived by: her husband Thomas James Cooper, Sr.; her daughters, Susan McGranahan (Jeffrey) and Cherri Harris (Troy); her grandchildren, Allyssa McGranahan, Sydnee Harris and Alex Harris; her sisters-in-law, Glenda Simmons, Peggy Matthews (Charles) and Diana Cooper; her nephews, Tim Welch (Angela), Todd Welch (Rebecca) and David Erickson (Elaine); and her niece Lisa Pye (Lonnie).
