He was predeceased by: his parents, John S. McGrady and Mary Frances Hutchinson McGrady; his wife Bessie Doris Gambill McGrady; his daughter Michelle Doris McGrady; and his siblings, Dawn Osborne, Pearl Brown, Vaughn McGrady, Glenn McGrady and Clyde McGrady.
He is survived by: his children, Melissa Emerine (Chad) of Weddington and Charles Anthony McGrady of Hays; his grandchildren, Shannon Slone (Jason) of Hampstead, Matthew McGrady of Hampstead, Mitchell McGrady (Caitlyn) of Columbia, MD, Brandon McGrady, Lucinda Bennett of Elkin, Drew Emerine and Delaney Emerine of Weddington; and his siblings, Mary Esther Burnette (Bill) of Columbia, Ella Mae Vires of Bristol and Carl McGrady (Revely) of Bristol, TN.. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
