He is survived by: his wife Glenda Faye Merritt; his children, Paul Merritt (Cindy), Gary Merritt (Leslie) and Patricia Lynn Franz; his stepdaughter Angela West (Tim); and his siblings, Bob Merritt and Renee Underwood. He is also survived by nine grandchildren.
