He was predeceased by: his parents, Adam Handolescu and Floare Handolescu; his former wife Stefania Handolescu; and his wife Doina Handolescu. He is survived by: his children, Stefan Handolescu (Cornelia), Petru Handolescu (Lidia), Mircea Handolescu (Lina), Victor Handolescu (Olga), Doina Bolog (Petru), Monica Handolescu, Vasile Handolescu (Angelica), Mihai Handolescu (Liana), Liliana Malutan (Ionel), Rodica Badea (Valentin), Florin Handolescu (Ioana), Dorin Handolescu (Elena), Mihaela Handolescu (Teodor) and Cornel Handolescu; and his brother Dumitru Handolescu. He is also survived by forty-four grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren.
