He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Spencer and Maranda Elizabeth Davis Brewer; his son Danny Brewer; and his siblings, Joe Brewer, Douglas Brewer, Johnnie Bryant, Bessie Rankin, Blanche Tedford and Frances Busby.
He is survived by: his former wife Mary Faye Vestal; his wife Joyce Bain Hart; and his children, Lorie Johnston (Murray) of Bradyville, TN, Steve Brewer (Donna) of Winchester and Charlie Brewer (Linda) of Lexington. He is also survived by six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
