She was predeceased by: her parents, Jessie James (Jake) and Icie Dora White James; her husband Max E. Massengill; her son Johnny Ray Massengill; and her siblings, Ella Malone, Porter James, Murrel James and Joe Pat James.
She is survived by: her daughter Janice Massengill Strickland of Birmingham; her grandchildren, Jody Massengill, Josh Massengill, Justin Massengill, Jordan Massengill and Jennifer Dudney Davidson; and her siblings, Harold James of Finger, Jessie Nell Hutcherson of Nashville and Corine Terry of Henderson. She is also survived by ten great grandchildren.
