He was predeceased by: his parents, Ambrose Melvin and John Dell Miller Plunk; his wife Betty Plunk; his daughter Sherry Harrison; his stepson Anthony Logan; and his sister Julia Isanell Hunt.

He is survived by: his children, Phillip Rex Plunk of Henderson and Sandra Bethea (Russ) of Henderson. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
