He was predeceased by: his parents, James Cecil and Eva Irene Moore Murphy; his brother James; and also, Buddy, Lila Dean Murphy and Patsy Jane Murphy.
He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Kolwyck Murphy of Henderson; his children, Amy Murphy Curlis (Shawn) of Charlotte, NC and Wes Murphy (Kim) of Henderson; his grandchildren, Elam Murphy and Erby Anne Murphy; and his siblings, Bobby Murphy of Bethel Springs and Jearlean McKenzie of Scotts Hill.
