She was predeceased by: her parents, Waitstill Lawson Day and Doris Marilyn Shelton; her son Kevin Mark Childers; and her brother David Lawson Day. She is survived by: her husband Tom L. Childers of Henderson, Tennessee; her children, Leah Childers Beaver of Henderson, Jenny Johnson (Rob) of Columbia, Tennessee and Tim Childers (LeeAnn) of Jacks Creek, Tennessee; her sister Sharon Simmons (Tommy) of Hernando; her grandchildren, Zach Johnson (Lauren) of Pulaski, Zane (Zoe Johnson), Anna Beth Beaver (Trace Beaver) and Sadie (Taylor Childers); and her nieces and nephews, Lisa Sweet (Jeff), Anglia Payne (Jamie) of Hernando, Lesley Congdon (Jon) of Gainesville, Jody Wallis (Emily) of Edmonds and Bryon Day (Gina) of Gainesville, Georgia..

She enjoyed going to local merchants and asking for donations or items to be sold at the Silent Auction.
