He was predeceased by: his parents, John Howard Gilchrist and Margaret Mattos Wilson; his stepfather Alfred A. Wilson; and his son-in-law Tommy Brooks. He is survived by: his children, Gil and Wilma Heverly; his grandson Harold; his mother-in-law Willie D. Braden; his brothers-in-law, Gusta "Buddy" Braden and Virgil Braden (Sherry); his wife Marilyn Braden Gilchrist; his children, Terri Brooks, Jerry Gilchrist (Robin) and Randy Gilchrist (Gail); and his sister-in-law Linda Braden. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren, and 2 great great great grandchildren.
