He was predeceased by: his parents, Garrett Gilpin and Ora Gilpin (Wells); his wife Jewell Gilpin (Yeary); and his siblings, Ira Gilpin, Tilman Gilpin, Otis Gilpin, Martha Frye, Suzie Wright, Reva Eldridge, Irene Craig and Josephine Nolan.
He is survived by: his children, Karen Fay Ramsey (Jimmy) of Speedwell, TN, David Gilpin (Beverly) of Harrogate, TN and Paul Gilpin (Sue) of Harrogate, TN. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
