He is survived by : his siblings, Clyde (Glenda Russell), David (Sharon Russell), Georgia, Deanie Farmer (late Jerry) of Huber Heights, Doyle (Cindy Russell), Teresa (Robert Sanders) and Chuck Russell of Knoxville; and his grandchildren, Allyson, Cooper Brock and Melissa Brock. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

“I loved Von,he's was a good friend.He always treated me the same every time I seen him,loved to hunt and fish with my brother,he will be missed.My favorite time with him was one day when he told me about giving his heart to Jesus,it was special,we both shed tears and he told me he new he would get to see his wife again because he got saved.Thank God for grace and for Von Russell,I'll see again ole'buddy!
