He was predeceased by: his wife Brenda Slaughter; his parents, James "Happy" and Beatrice Slaughter; and his brothers, Gail and Mike Slaughter.
He is survived by: his daughters, Yvette Morgan (Brent) and Diana McLaughlin (Scott); and his grandchildren, Jesse Morgan (Emily), Abigail Lockhart (Matt), Bailey Morgan (Lauren), Jasmine Milsaps, Dalton Milsaps and Justice McLaughlin. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
