He is survived by: his significant other Mary Frankie Payne (Pat); his son Rick Payne (Karen); his grandchildren, Travis Payne (Hyapatia), Ringgold and Hillary Overby (Chris) of Chickamauga, GA; his stepgrandchildren, Jarrod Wolfe and Jarrell Wolfe; his great grandchildren, Mylee, Haven, Harper and Owen Payne; his stepgranddaughters, Heidi and Georgia Overby; and his brothers, Larry Payne, Michael Payne, Jerry Payne and Greg Payne. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
