He was predeceased by: his parents, William Davis and Marjorie Davis; his wife Lucy Britt Davis; and his siblings, Edward, Ted, John, Jude and Alice.

He is survived by: his children, Scott Davis (Angie) of Ooltewah, TN and Nancy Jones (Martin) of Dallas, TX; his grandchildren, Mindy Robinson (Brandon) of Chattanooga, TN and Cole Davis of Savannah; his sisters, Eldora Davis of Riceville, TN and Betty Pullin of Ohio; and his sister-in-law Edna Dixon. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
