He was predeceased by: his parents, E. W. Whitfield and Stella Whitfield. He is survived by: his siblings, E. W. Whitfield, Jr. and Maxine Portwood; his siblings-in-law, Roy Hixson, Bill Jacobs, James Paul, Wayne Portwood, Barney Wright, Charles Henley, Mann Wright, Missy Henley, Lois Hixson, June Whitfield, Dot Wright and Marge Wright; his nephews, Steven Jacobs, Gary Portwood, James Wright and Tim Wright; his wife Lorellen Whitfield "Mommalo"; his daughter Patti; his grandsons, Max Linke (Tosha) and Lane Gutridge; his great grandchildren, Emmett "Thunder" Linke and Ella Kate "Lightening" Linke; his siblings, Jean Jacobs, Barbara Paul, Don (Una Coffman) and John (Sherry Schuman); his son-in-law Eric Gutridge; and his nephew Alan Oliver.
