He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. Kenneth Hicks and Beulah Hicks; his brother Charles Hicks; and his brother-in-law David Brooks. He is survived by: his children, Wes Hicks (Margaret) of Harriman and Tammy Mullins (Keith) of Rockwood; his grandsons, Brayden Hicks, Landon Hicks, Cody Mullins (Claire) and Mack Mullins; and his sisters, Patsy Brooks and Gail Mathers.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, December 17th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Kyker Funeral Homes Our Harriman Chapel (430 Morgan Ave NE, Harriman, TN 37748). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 17th 2024 at 8:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, December 18th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Roane Memorial Gardens (1400 N Gateway Ave, Rockwood, TN 37854).
