He was predeceased by: his parents, Fredrick Bolden and Verna Harris Bolden; and his brother Fred "Bud" Bolden. He is survived by: his sons, James Alvin Bolden, Jr. and Richard Lee Bolden; and his siblings, Sandra Alamaroad (Joel), Dorothy Verkler (Jim) and Steve Bolden (Mona). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorial donations be made to the Family Life Center of River Side Baptist Church.
