He was predeceased by: his parents, George Oody and Alva Oody; his brother Glen Oody; and his granddaughter Misty Brooke Oody. He is survived by: his wife Betty Oody; his sons, Barry (Sherry Oody) and Keith (Tracy Oody); his siblings, Patsy Forrester, Janice Webster (Donnie) and Arthur Lee Oody (Joby); and his grandchildren, Marie Miles (Brent), Jay Oody (Christa), Andrew Oody and Katie Oody.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Riverside Baptist Church.
