He is survived by: his children, Darell G. Byrd, Jesse R. Byrd, Kenneth L. Byrd (Pam), Ruby C. Pearson (Harell), Brenda G. Pearson (Larry) and Kathy Byrd of Hampton; his siblings, Roxie Simerly, Coleen Bowling and Ivan Byrd; his close friends, Connie, Elk River Baptist Church, Gary Pearson and Chris Hughes; and also, Martha and Ruby Odom. He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren.
