He was predeceased by: his stepfather O. C. Franklin; and his grandparents, James Riley, Mildred Pritchard, Thurman and Virgie Simerly.
He is survived by: his parents, Bobby Simerly and Joyce Pritchard Franklin; his siblings, Leighta Laitinen (Andy) and Larry Simerly (Rebecca); his nephews, Jordan Simerly, Greyson Simerly and Niklas Laitinen; his niece Kaylyn Simerly; his pet Copperhead; and his friend Sam Lyons.
