He was predeceased by: his significant other Mitzi Williams Smith; his parents, Robert Smith and Lois McLean Smith; and his siblings, Robert, Edward, Don, Joe, Sam, Jerry Smith, Helen McLeod and Vinia Lee Rogers.
He is survived by: his daughter Pam; his son-in-law Jimmy Napoleon; his grandson Chris Napoleon; his great grandchild Andrew Ryan Napoleon; and his sister Judy Douthat. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
