He was predeceased by: his father Edd; his wife Frances Gregg Waddell; his children, Pennie Knight and Jimmie Waddell; and his brothers, Jack and Leonard Waddell.
He is survived by: his children, Eddie Waddell and Dollie; his son-in-law Curtiss Montgomery; his grandchildren, Angela Johnson, Jacob Johnson, Anthony Reaves, Craig Reaves, Nicole Prezz of Connecticut, Kayla Waddell, Jessica Waddell of Rhode Island and Heather Knight; his daughters-in-law, Karen Fann and Carol Waddell Britt; and his siblings, Lorene Stills, Bertha Dixon, Besslene Crum Davis, JoAnn Wheeler, Brenda (Everette Aldridge), Cleatus (Michelle Waddell) and Clyde Waddell. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
