He was predeceased by: his parents, George Austin and Katherine Austin; and his stepchildren, Nicholas Kesterson and Kimberly Kesterson. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Austin; his daughter Rita Malone of Atlanta, Georgia; his stepson Michael "Chad" Kesterson of Greeneville; his grandchildren, Taylor Williams (Evan) of Atlanta, Makayla Malone of Atlanta, Sady Kesterson, Brayden Kesterson of Greeneville, Bryce Kesterson and Conner Kesterson of Homestead, Florida; his great grandchildren, Everly Williams and Ryleigh Williams of Atlanta, Georgia; his siblings, Kathleen "Sissy" Meisenheimer of Greeneville and Andrew Austin of Florida; and his sisters-in-law, Kathy Collins (Robert) and Barbara Kiker. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Due to Covid-19 pandemic, the family requests that masks be worn and social distancing be practiced.
