With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Nettie Wagers Hurd Foster (Greeneville, Tennessee), born in Clay, Kentucky, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. She was predeceased by: her parents, Dutt Wagers and Dora Wagers (Murray); her husband Charles Junior Hurd; and her grandson Billy Wayne Quillen. She is survived by: her children, Shelby (Michael Ricker), J. C. (Imogene Hurd), Cathy (Billy F. Quillen), Elizabeth (Earl Tolley) and Charles (Rebecca Hurd); her grandchildren, Lorie Hurd, Jason Hurd, Bridget Quillen, Charlie Hurd, Josh, Samatha Hurd, Christopher Ricker, Brad Tolley, Brandi and Jamie Peltier; her stepgrandchildren, Joey, Amanda Harmon, Jada and Terry Jones; and her siblings, Bettie Wagers Agee of Kingsport, TN, Roy Wagers of Graham and James Wagers of Surgoinsville, TN. She is also survived by thirteen great grandchildren and four step great grandchildren; six great, great grandsons.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 328 Biddle St, Greeneville, TN 37745.

“Hurd Family, My heartfelt condolences to all of you. Losing a mother is the hardest thing, but losing a wonderful mother is the worst. She was a lovely soul and well thought of at Calvary and was faithful to attend as long as she could. How blessed that God gave her life a great length. It was His way of saying "Well done, My daughter!" Know that she is living her best life now, and that will never end. I love you all, Janice Farnsworth.”
