She was predeceased by: her parents, R. E. Philman and Ethel Philman; her siblings, Percy, Ronald Philman and Myrtice Philman; her brother-in-law Gerald Sams; and her nephew William Philman.
She is survived by: her husband Joe Sams; her sons, Joey Sams of Greeneville and Jamie Sams of Greeneville; her grandchildren, James of Greeneville, Lincoln of Greeneville and Savannah Sams of Greeneville; her daughters-in-law, Lisa of Greeneville, Amber of Greeneville and Kim Sams of Greeneville; and her sisters-in-law, Judy Philman of Arkansas, Diane Philman of Florida and Betty Sams of North Carolina. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
