It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jack T. Bowman of Greeneville, Tennessee, who passed away on November 6, 2023, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his wife Sara Wilson Bowman; his parents, Russell Bowman and Bessie Bowman; and his siblings, Don (Lucille Bowman), Willis, Juanita (Woody Crum), Covey (Clay Woolsey), Swannee (Luke Fillers) and Wilda (Jay Chandler).

He is survived by: his caregivers, Judy Bettis, Vicki Jones, Dale Fann, Sherry Howard, Elizabeth Murray, Tim Reynolds, Ginger Jennings, Mary Ann Riddle and Gina Pangelinan. He is also survived by several other nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers it is requested that memorials be sent to Harris Memorial Cemetery c/o Tim Smithson, 260 Red Hill Road, Greeneville, TN 37743 or to Mt. Olive Red Hill Church Cemetery c/o Judy Bettis, 2535 Sunnydale Road, Greeneville, TN 37743.

“I met Jack Bowman through his wife Sara. Sara, a resident of Holsten Home, who had came to live with my grandmother on the family farm in Southwest Virginia. After her high school graduation Sara returned to Greeneville, where she married Jack. Since I am an only child Sara was like my pretend sister and, after they married, Jack was like my pretend brother. Since then I have enjoyed visiting in the Bowman home on many occasions. Jack will be missed. Richard Bennington”
