It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ida Ruth Waddell Bowers (Greeneville, Tennessee), who passed away on May 14, 2023, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husbands, Oscar Waddell and Ray Bowers; her daughter Peggy Ann Dunn; her parents, Jerlo Shelton and Iva Renner Shelton; and her siblings, Nora Shelton Gregg, I. J. Shelton, Robert Shelton and Ralph Shelton.
She is survived by: her son-in-law Ernie Dunn of Greeneville; her siblings, Otis Shelton (Patsy) of Greeneville and Zollie Shelton Mills of Knoxville; her nieces, Janet Hixson and Judy Crawford; and her siblings-in-law, J. H. Gregg of Parrottsville and Glenna Ruth Shelton of Newport.
