He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Cantrell and Lura Cantrell; his siblings, Infant Dicey Cantrell, Clonia Cantrell (Amerada), Annie Tweed, Buck Cantrell (Bess), Pansy Key, Ruby Hughes, Dennis Cantrell (Shirley), Pat Cutshall (Dedrick) and Shirley Thomas (Hillard); and his siblings-in-law, JD Thomas and Frances Pitt.
He is survived by: his wife Iva Cantrell; his children, Debbie Norton (Wesley) and Darryl Cantrell (Michaeline); his grandsons, Eric Metcalf (Cara) and Allen Norton; his great grandchild Nate Metcalf; his brother Titus Cantrell (Anna Mae) of Marshall, NC; his siblings-in-law, David Thomas and Shirley Thomas; and his close friend Shirley Norton.
