He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Stills and Dora Stills; his former wife Dorothy Stills; his siblings, Irene Stills, Wanda Rader, Linton, Hoover, Raymond, Clarence and Mack Stills; his granddaughter Toush Davis; and his stepson Gary Gosnell.

He is survived by: his wife Joyce Alyne Stills; his daughter Cathy Laws; his grandson Tyler (Leslie Laws); his great grandchild TJ Laws; his stepchildren, Denise, Jack Pritchard and Chris; his grandchildren, Cutshall, Duncan, Mary Pritchard, Byron and Heather Pritchard; his stepgranddaughter Kayleigh Pritchard; his sister Gaye; his siblings-in-law, Rev. Buster Shelton and Barbara Stills; his stepdaughter-in-law Kathy Gosnell; his stepgrandchildren, Crystall of Statesville, David Walker of Statesville, Tiffany Owens of Statesville and Gary Wayne Gosnell, Jr. of Statesville; and his nieces, Nancy Susong and Mary Kiser.
