She was predeceased by: her husband Henderson "Hank" Bales; her children, James Sparks and Carolyn Bales; and her parents, Charlie Bowens and Minnie Bowens.
She is survived by: her children, Johnny Sparks (Louise), Brenda Ellison (Jeff), Michael Sparks (Sharon Cutshall) and Sherry McGhee (Michael); her daughter-in-law Diane Sparks; her stepsons, Ronnie Bales and Leslie Bales; and her grandchildren, Matthew Walters, Valerie Dotson, Jason Dotson, Joey McGhee and Melissa Collins (Allen). She is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
