He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Ferris and Lois Lucille Jeffers Ferris; his grandparents, Joseph, Ann Ferris, Jacob Franklin and Pearl Frye Jeffers; and his sisters, Brenda Burkeen and Tina Cole.

He is survived by: his siblings, Joseph Ferris, III, Linda Hayden (Charlie), Rita Witherspoon of Paducah, KY and Theressa Brown of Symsonia, KY; his aunt Shirley Jeffers; and his close friend Patsy Story. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
