He was predeceased by: his wife Helen Starnes; his parents, Looney Starnes and Dora Ann Starnes; and his siblings, Guy Starnes, Tom Starnes, Robert "Cotton" Starnes, Jim Starnes, Vina Carter and Blanche "Sis" Jones.

He is survived by: his sister-in-law Wanda Brockway. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
