He was predeceased by: his parents, Wiley Shelton and Anna Shelton. He is survived by: his daughter Dr. Angela Shelton (Richard Jackson); his grandchildren, Martin Leach, Lt. Matthew Leach, Daniel Shelton, Alex Shelton, Brayden Shelton, Elizabeth Shelton and Michael Shelton, Jr.; his great grandchildren, Ethan Leach, Raelyn Shelton and Owen Shelton; his sisters, Fannie Shipley and Frances Kinser (Russell); his siblings-in-law, Connie Shelton, Julia Johnson, Beverly Chandler (Doyce) and Wayne Jennings; his wife Carolyn Shelton; his parents-in-law, Gordon and Ivetta Jaynes; his siblings, Lowell Shelton and Margaret Jennings; and his brother-in-law Charles Shipley. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
